Bariatu is one of the biggest residential areas in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Formerly it was a forest area with the settlement of Munda tribe.

Bariatu, meaning two villages, derived its name from the local language, known as Mundari language. The picturesque Bariatu Hills located here forms the gateway to the city at Booti More.

The place is famous as an area inhabited by doctors. Rajendra Medical College and Hospital is functioned here. This locality is also composed of many modern architectural buildings.

Bariatu can be approached from Ranchi by road. The nearest railhead is Ranchi Railway Station and the airport is Ranchi Airport.
