Barat Puja




Barat Puja, a ceremony associated with the Tiwa tribe of Assam, is host to numerous dances. This religious ceremony is observed by the tribal populations dwelling in the plain regions. It features a dance that uses a clapping instrument called Sarailee, made from bamboo and wood. The dancers don the masks of various deities and animals.
