Barabar Hills




Barabar Hills is the place where Emperor Asoka built caves for the Ajivaka ascetics. The caves are cut on the hard and rocky hills, the most interesting among the caves is called Lomas Rishi Cave.

Barabar Hills has grown to be a famous Buddhist pilgrimage center. It is located about 20 km north of Gaya. Barabar Caves, an important archeological site, is situated in Barabar Hills. The hills offer exciting trekking opportunities and spectacular views of nature.

Gaya Junction Railway Station is the closest railway station and Patna airport is the nearest airport.
