Banjar Kekan Dance



Banjar Kekan is a dance performed by the Karbi tribe of Assam. It involves the use of decorated bamboo poles, which are locally referred as ‘banjar’. This dance is performed exclusively by the young men of the tribe. Banjar Kekan is a major attraction during the festive season of the Chomangkan, a festival dedicated to the deceased souls.
