Baneshwar




Baneshwar is located about 60 km from Dungarpur. The name 'Baneshwar' is derived from the sacred Shivlinga kept in the Mahadev Temple in Dungarpur. The Baneshwar fair is the important festival held at a small delta formed by the river Som and Mahi, from Magh Shukla Ekadashi to Magh Shukla Poornima. The temple of Baneshwar Mahadev remains open from 5:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs during the fair. Other attractions at this place are the Vishnu temple and Brahma temple located nearby.

The nearest airport is at Udaipur. Bus and private taxi services are available from Banswara, Udaipur and Dungarpur. The nearest railway station is at Banswara.
