Banasura is a tourist destination in Wayanad District, Kerala. It is about 25 km north-east of Kalpetta. The main attraction is the Banasuran Mountain. The Banasura Dam is constructed in between the hills located here. When the dam is full, many islands are formed in the upstream of the dam, adding more charm to this place.
With its placid, crystal clear lake-waters, Banasura is a wonderful picnic spot. Located in the midst of lovely, mist-clad hills with a wildlife sanctuary and park full of flowering trees, this is a delightful spot to spend one's time.
Banasura can be approached from Kalpetta and Kozhikode, by road. Nearest railway station and airport are at Kozhikode.
