Banastarim




Positioned in the taluk of Tiswadi, the village of Banastarim is known for its market. It is about 16 km from Panaji. An important landmark in the village is the metal bridge that links the Tiswadi and Ponda taluks. Gifted with picturesque scenes, the village has a fresh water spring, known as the Maina Kullaghar. The main temples here are the Shri Navdurga Mahishasur Mardini temple, Vetal-Betal temple, and Shri Ravalnath temple. A prime attraction of the village is the stone on which fine carvings of Goddess Lakshmi flanked by two elephants are found.
