Ballal Dhipi is an archeological site located near Bamanpukur Bazaar, on way to Mayapur

. It is about 25 km from Krishnanagar
The excavations done here had unearthed a unique structural complex covering about 13,000 square meters. The complex centers around a 9 m high mound (Dhipi). This complex identifies itself with the Vikramsila Vihar. Historians say that this side of the Vihar (Stupa) of 8th/9th century could have been a seat of learning and pilgrimage up to the eleventh century.
