Bakthavatchala Perumal Temple is located at Tirukkannamangai in
Tiruvarur district. It is a
Vaishnavite temple with the deity in standing position, facing the east. The goddess of the temple is Abeshegavalli.
The temple is known by the name Sapthamruthaskethram as there are seven celebrated archietectural elements here. They are Vimana, Mandapam, Aranyam, Sarasu, Skthera, Aaru and Nagaram. The idol of Lord Shiva in four forms is also enshrined here.
The temple can be approached by traveling a distance of 7 km from Tiruvarur by bus.
