Baktawng




Situated at an altitude of 2,083 ft above sea level, Baktawng is a small village in the Serchhip District of Mizoram. It is on the Aizawl-Lunglei Road. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people. Mizo and English are the languages spoken. The village of Chhingchhip is situated nearby. Chhingpui Memorial, built in memory of a young beautiful woman named Chingpuii, is the major attraction. The village is easily accessible by road. The National Highway 54 passes close by.
