Bairath




Bairath (Viratnagar) is around 85 km from Jaipur on a diversion from National Highway No 8, near Shahpura which connects Alwar. This historical township in Jaipur District has excavated remains of a circular Buddhist temple and relics of the Mauryan, Mughal and Rajput periods. The Viratnagar Museum in Bairath has a wide collection of artifacts which lay claim to Bairath's rich past. The major attractions in Bairath include a mint constructed by Akbar, beautiful Mughal garden and remarkable monument with painted 'chhatris' and wall built by Jehangir.
