Ayyappa Swamy Temple

Ayyappa Swamy Temple lies next to the Lakshmi Narayanaswamy Temple in Pallipuram of Palakkad District. The chief deity of the temple is Lord Ayyappa. It is also known as Porima Pushkalomba Sametha Harihara Patha Swamy Temple.

There is an interesting incident that became a reason for the building of the Ayyappa Swamy Temple. It is said that centuries ago the village houses had thatched roofs. To overcome the frequent fires on their houses, the villagers decided to chant Sahasranama Japam. One among the villagers told that one has to get the Ayyappa Swamy idol from Kulichimalai (2 km away) and install it on the right side of Lakshmi Narayana Swamy. Thus the idol was brought and the shrine was consecrated.

Sastha Preethi ritual is conducted annually in praise of the lord.
