Avalanche is a famous tourist spot located at a distance of 26 kilometers from
Ooty. The place is known after a landslide occurred in the area in 1823. This picnic spot is excellent for walking and provides superb scenery. Trout fishing can be done here. There is a beautiful lake which is surrounded by a thick jungle. {MacIvor's Bund} is located within a distance of 7 kilometers from Avalanche. Near this place is the Mukerti Peak.
