Augrihandel and Thengkou are the most sacred and secret dances performed by the Meities tribe in
Manipur. These dances are usually performed by able people with swords and shields or spears, the purpose of which is creation, protection and demolition. Augrihandel and Thengkou dances are performed during festivals.
