Attala is one of the important rock shelter painting destinations situated in the
Devikulam Taluk of
Idukki District. It lies at a height of 1500 m above mean sea level, near the village of Kavakudi, to the west of
Marayoor Township. On the walls of these rock shelters, there are about 94 painted motifs including some abstract designs as well as human and animal figures.
