Atharamura

One of the six principal hill ranges in Tripura, Atharamura, literally means eighteen hills, and falls in West Tripura District and South Tripura District.

Its path is from Amarpur sub-division to Khowai sub-division and then runs along the eastern border of West Tripura District. Niungnanwra is the highest peak of Atharamura. Sarma River has its source here. Shale deposits in this region are well suited for making clay cement modules, which are used as road metal.
