Ashtamudi Craft and Art Festival, called Paramparya, is a traditional annual festival held at the Ashramam maidan at
Kollam. Organized by the Kollam District Tourism Promotion Council, the festival takes place either in December or in January and artists from all over India come to participate in the event.
Workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations of traditional art and crafts are the major activities at the fair. Tourists can purchase a wide range of articles including wood carvings, dolls, puppets and coir crafts. The festival stages various cultural programs performed by folk and tribal artists from different parts of India.
