Ashoka Pillar, 11 m high, is situated inside the
Allahabad Fort in
Allahabad. Dating back to 232 BC, Ashoka Pillar is built of polished sandstone. It carries some edicts and a Persian inscription of Emperor Jahangir, commemorating his accession to the throne.
