Ascot

Ascot is a rural area located about 55 km from Pithoragarh. In the ancient period, this region was part of the kingdom of Katyuri dynasty.

Main attraction is a palace belonging to the last Katyuri king. It is believed that the name Ascot is derived from the word Asi-Kot, literally meaning 80 forts. The place holds the remains of many ancient forts.

Enriched with pine forests and beautiful waterfalls, Ascot is an ideal halt for nature lovers. Other places of interest are Mallikarjuna Temple and Swami Marian Ashram. Visitors can also enjoy the enchanting view of the Panchachuli.

By road, Jauljibi is 8 km east and Thal is 28 km west. Pant Nagar Airport is the nearest airport.
