Arunagirimedu Temple




Arunagirimedu Temple is situated to the south-west of Thiruloghiyanathar Temple in Kanchipuram. This ancient temple was built by Simmavarma Pallava, a king who ruled Kanchipuram, on the banks of a lake, during 550-575 AD. This sacred place got the name ‘Vardhamadeeshwaram’ from the name of a Jain temple located here.

The nearest railway station is Kanchipuram Railway Station. The prominent international airport is at Chennai.
