Arulmigu Kandeeswarar Temple




Arulmigu Kandeeswarar Temple is a delightful shrine situated about 10 km from Karaikudi, in Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the 9 Nagarathar temples in Karaikudi. The temple enshrines Lord Kandeeswarar along with his divine consort Goddess Kamatchiammai.

Arulmigu Kandeeswarar Temple is the smallest of the nine Nagarathar temples. The temple is also called as Velangudi Temple, due to the 'vela' trees grown here.

The temple is located on the Karaikudi-Tiruchirapalli Road and can be easily accessed by bus. Karaikudi Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
