Arishta




Arishta, often known as medicinal wine, is a naturally fermented herbal supplement. It is obtained after decoction of raw drugs and is fermented for retaining efficacy over a long period.

It tastes sweetish but with slight acidity and a nice aroma. Arishta works directly on the dysfunction of the digestive system, which is the significant cause of all the diseases according to Ayurveda. It has instantaneous effect over the body and is also prescribed for allergy, anemia, neurological disorders, and arthritic symptoms.

Names of most Arishta's are after the main ingredients, which may constitute of plant, fruits, roots, extracts roots, leaves and barks. Jaggary sugar or honey with water are the other ingredients. Some of the most important arishtams are Dasamoolarishtam, Draksharishtam, Balarishtam, Aswagandharishtam and Saraswatharishtam.
