Ardha Matsyendrasana

Ardha Matsyendrasana stimulates the liver and kidneys. It stretches the shoulders, hips, neck and energizes the spine. Menstrual discomfort, fatigue, sciatica, and backache can be cured by this asana. As per the ancient texts, Ardha Matsyendrasana increases appetite, cures deadly diseases and awakens kundalini.

Ardha Matsyendrasana is also suggested for those who are suffering from asthma and infertility. 'Matsyendra' is the Sanskrit word for 'king of the fish.' This asana is referred as 'half lord of the fishes pose.'
