Arattupuzha




Arattupuzha is a village in the southern end of Alappuzha District in Kerala. It is a coastal village sandwiched between Arabian Sea and Kayamkulam Lake. The majority of the local population is involved in fishing. Being a coastal village, Arattupuzha has a long history of sea erosion. The village, located on a 14 km stretch of land, measures a breadth of just 50 m at some places. Muthukulam, Thrikunnapuzha and Kandaloor are the neighboring villages. Alappuzha, Harippad, Kayamkulam and Mavelikara are the nearby prominent towns. Alappuzha Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport.
