The Arattu Festival of
Janardhana Swamy Temple is held every year in
Meenam (March-April) for 10 days. It commences with Kodiyettu (flag hoisting) on the Karthika day and ends with
arattu on the Uthram day. A peculiar section of this festival is a grand procession led by barded elephants.
Janardhana Swamy Temple is located on the beach road at Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram District.
