Antardvipa

Antardvipa is the first island among the nine islands of Navadvipa. The place is two km away from ISKCON Chandradoya Mandir. It is said that the Chaitanya Mahaprabhu told his internal feelings to Lord Brahma here and thus the place was named Antardvipa (Antar means internal).

Antardvipa has a small house containing the idols of Lord Chaitanya’s father (Jagannath Misra), his mother (Sacidevi) and baby Nimai (Lord Chaitanya). Besides this small hut lies a temple, which contains a Shivling. The main temple is to the left of the house and another temple dedicated to Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur is at the right side. Bharadvaja Tila, Vamana Pukara, Ganga Nagara and Chand Kazi’s Samadhi are some of the important places nearby.

One can take ferry across the Bhagirathi River from Navadvipa to reach Antardvipa.
