Anjarakandi




A prominent village in Kannur District of Kerala, Anjarakandi is 19 km south-east of Kannur. It is famous for its cinnamon plantations, which is considered the biggest in Asia.

A 1000 acre estate comprising coffee, pepper and sandal wood plants was set up here by the British in 1797. In 1803, it was destroyed during the fight between Pazhassiraja and British. But it was later revived on.
