Anjar




Anjar is the headquarters of a taluk bearing the same name, in Kutch District of Gujarat. It is situated about 50 km south-east of Bhuj, the district headquarters. The place is famous for its block printing work, nutcrackers, scissors and penknives.

Major point of attraction is the shrine of Jesal Toral and the bungalow of James Mcmurdo, which is a veritable museum of Kutchi Art. Ajaypal Temple and the holy shrine of Pinjora Pir are other tourist attractions worth visiting.

The annual Jesal-Toral Fair, organized here, is one of the most colorful fairs organized in the district.

Anjar Railway Station lies on the Bhuj-Gandhidham rail route of Western Railways. By road, Anjar is well linked with Bhimasar, Gandhidham, Bhachau and Roha.
