Aniyoor Durga Devi Temple

Durga Devi Temple is a fascinating spot situated at Aniyoor in Chempazhanthy, the birth place of Shri Narayana Guru, at Thiruvananthapuram. The temple is dedicated to goddess Durga, an incarnation of goddess Shakti. This holy spot is where Shri Narayana Guru, the saint and social reformer of Kerala and Brahmasree Chattambi Swamikal met each other.

This temple complex has sub shrines of Lord Ganesh, Nagaraj and Mantramurti. The rajagopuram and figures built in rainbow colors are fascinating. An annual festival is celebrated at the temple.

Sree Narayana College in Chempazhanthy is situated nearby.

Chempazhanthy is about 10 km from Sreekaryam junction on NH 47 Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram route. Trivandrum International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station are the nearest access points.
