Anchuvilakku, a lamp-post made of stone, is located 22 km south of
Kottayam, near the
Changanacherry boat jetty. It was constructed by
Velu Thampi Dalawa, the Diwan of the former
Travancore Province (Thiruvithamkur) of
Kerala. The five lamps on this post are lit using kerosene. It is an excellent example of Kerala architecture.
