Anand District




Anand District was formed in 1997 by dividing Kheda District of Gujarat. It is spread over 2,951 sq km. Headquarters, Anand town, is located about 35 km away from Vadodara. Khambhat taluk has the natural border of the Gulf of Khambhat.

About 204,904 hectare land is available for agriculture. Tobacco, wheat and dangar are the main crops. The Mahisagar and Sabarmati are the major rivers. Asia's largest milk co-operative, the Amul dairy, is situated here. Dakor, Champaner, Shri Khambhat Teerth, and Pavagadh Fort are the important places of interest.
