Anaimalai

Village famous for a Jain heritage centre



Anaimalai is a village situated about five miles from Madurai, in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the eight sacred Jaina hills. There is a natural cave at a short distance from the village. The cave consists of three carved berths. Brahmi inscriptions dating back to the first or second century can be found in the cave.
