Amrithapura




Amrithapura is a picturesque village noted for its serene environment. This scenic hamlet is 67 km north of Chikmagalur and 10 km of Tarikere. Amrithapura is renowned for the splendid Amrithapura temple built in 1196 by Amriteswara Dandanayaka, a general of the Hoysala ruler Ballala II. This temple built in Hoysala period is known for its delicacy of touch and originality of design. Kemmannagundi and Hebbe Falls are nearby.

At Mangalore is the nearest airport. Kadur is the major railway station.
