Amphitheatre




Amphitheatre, a landmark of Auroville, is a red-stoned shallow bowl having 100 m wide at its center. The marble-clad urn is built in the shape of a lotus bud. It contains the soil of the 124 nations participated in the Auroville inauguration ceremony.

The amphitheatre is the place where the special functions of Aurovilians are held. The main attraction is the dawn fire flames that held twice in a year.
