Ambernath




Ambernath is a small scenic town near Akola in Thane District, Maharashtra. The name Ambernath is associated with Lord Shiva, where an 11th century Ambernath Temple in Hemadpanti style, dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated.

It is an industrial area, comprising more than 500 chemical, engineering and other industries, which provides employment to the population of the town. The ideal time to visit the place is during the Shivratri, when fairs are conducted.

Ambernath lies on the Mumbai-Pune railway line with Ambernath Railway Station providing train services. The nearest airport is Mumbai Airport.
