Amarpur

Amarpur is 3 km west of Don, in Siwan District of Bihar. This charming hamlet is located close to the state's border with Uttar Pradesh.

This village got its name from Naib Amar Singh, the builder of a mosque in this place during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The ruins of the mosque can be seen here even today.

The mighty Ganges flows through the village.

Nearest airport is at Patna. Siwan Junction Railway Station, on Chhapra-Gorakhpur railway route, is the nearest major railhead. Siwan, the district headquarters, is nearly 26 km north.
