Amarnath Hills




Amarnath Hills is a part of the great Himalayas and is one of the famous abode of Lord Shiva. This hill is about 3,888 m above sea level. It is a major trekking area for the tourists as well as the pilgrims to the Amarnath Shrine.

The trek to Amaranth starts from Pahalgam (about 45 km). Chandanwari, Sheshnag (Wawjan) and Panchtarni are the halting or camping areas on this trek. Amarnath is about 141 km from Srinagar.

The best time for trekking is during July-August.
