Amaralingeshwar Temple




Amaralingeshwar Temple is nestled at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh. Amareshwar (Lord Shiva) is the main deity of the temple. Balachamundeswari and Venugopalaswamy are the other deities of the temple.

According to legend, when Lord Subramanya killed Tharakasura, the Lingam in his throat fell over five places, making them all holy Shiva Kshetras (temples). Amaravati is the main pilgrim center among them.
