Alwar Tirunagari is a famous Vaishnavite center, located 30 km east of Tirunelveli and 25 km west of Tiruchendur. It is the birth place of Saint Nammalwar and Manavalamuni.
Adinathswami Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is located there. It is one of the 108 sacred Vaishnavite shrines. It is also one of the nine sacred Vaishnavite shrines in Tirunelveli, within an area of 50 sq miles.
