Alwar City Palace




Alwar City Palace was built by Maharaja Vinay singh in the 18th century. As one of the most attractive palaces of Rajasthan, this palace is a blend of Rajput and the Mughal style architecture. Now the lower floors of the palace are occupied by government offices and the upper floors are used as museum. The museum has vast collections of Sanskrit and Persian books, archeological finds, paintings, and armory such as swords, shields, daggers, rifles, pistols, and other arms. It also houses the personal collections of Maharaja Vinay Singh. The palace includes Moosi Rani Ki Chhatri which was built in memory of Moosi Bai, queen of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh.
