Allahabad Public Library




Allahabad Public Library, situated inside the Chandrasekhar Azad Park in the heart of Allahabad, is the oldest library in the city. Established in 1864, the library building is noted for its remarkable Gothic architecture. There is a collection of approximately 75,000 rare books, old government publications, parliamentary papers and blue books of the 19th century. It is also a treasure house of old manuscripts and journals.
