Aliyar Dam is located at a distance of 24 kilometers from
Pollachi,
Coimbatore. The dam was constructed during the years 1959-1969 across the Aliyar River. The main purpose of the dam is irrigation.
2 km beyond the Aliyar Dam, is the Aliyar ashram.The dam has a height of 81 m from the deepest foundation. It is an ideal picnic spot.
