Alivelu Manga Sametha Shri Venkateswara Temple is located in
Yanam, Pondicheery. It is also known as Venkanna Babu Temple, Chaldikudu Venkanna Temple and Meesala Venkanna Temple.
This temple was built by the kings of Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) in the 15th century. Before independence, it was a venue for child marriages, which was put to an end by the social reformers. Hence, Yanam was also known ‘Kalyana Puram’ in the past.
