Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped




Founded in 1983, the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH)) stands to provide rehabilitation programs for the hearing and speech impaired. It is an autonomous organization under the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India, New Delhi. Located at Bandra (West), Mumbai, the center is ranked as excellent by RCI. The center has developed various materials to help research, training, educational and clinical programs. The organization has inter-disciplinary teams of audiologists, speech language pathologists, special educators, psychologists, social workers, ENT specialist, pediatricians and neurologists. It has a Socio Economic Rehabilitation Department to care for the socio-economic need of patients. The National Institute of Open Schooling offers continuing education for the hearing impaired.

Camps are organized in rural areas of the country with the aim of providing services such as diagnosis, fitment, counseling and creating awareness.
