Alamgir Mosque

Also known as Beni Madhav Ka Darera



Alamgir Mosque is situated at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This mosque, otherwise known as Beni Madhav Ka Darera, was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb, at the site where an ancient Vishnu temple was situated. The architecture of this building reveals an amazing combination of Hindu and Mughal styles. Below this mosque lies the famous bathing point Panjaganga Ghat.

Varanasi is well connected to other cities and towns by road and rail. It has two railway stations namely Varanasi City Railway Station and Varanasi Junction Railway Station. Varanasi Airport is the nearest airport.
