Akoi

Akoi is a beautiful village located about 4 km north of Sangrur in Punjab. Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Hargobind are said to have sanctified this village with their presence.

Guru Hargobind arrived here during his journey through the Malva region. A devotee named Bhai Manak Chand later constructed a gurdwara at Akoi, which is popularly known as Gurdwara Manji Sahib. This gurdwara, situated about 3 km north of Sangrur, lies at the spot where the guru had stayed during his visit. Another attraction is a shrine constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak. This shrine has a small room where the holy Guru Granth Sahib is seated. Sangrur Railway Station is the nearest railhead and Ludhiana Airport is the nearest airport.
