Aiyadigal Kadavarkon Nayanar is one of the 63
nayanars referred to in the
Periya Puranam. Nayanar was a
Pallava king, who ruled over
Kanchi. He was an ideal leader. He was a great devotee of
Lord Shiva and infused the spirit of Shaivism into his people. Aiyadigal Kadavarkon Nayanar gave up worldly life after installing his son in his place. The King started off on a pilgrimage, chanting hymns in praise of the lord.
