Ainchaliyan (also known as Ainchali) is a religious ballad sung in Himachal Pradesh. The men-folk go round the houses of married couples and sing these romantic songs to the accompaniment of drums. Women-folk sing them in the house of unmarried girls. Incidents from the Ramayana and Mahabharata are depicted in these romatic songs.
