Founded by Afzal Khan about the middle of the 18th century, Afzalgarh is a small town situated in the eastern part of
Bijnor District. This town, close to the
Uttaranchal border, is situated on the National Highway 74 at a distance of 10 km from Sherkot and 9 km from Rehar.
Kotdwar and Kalagarh are good places of excursion from here.
Afzalgarh is directly linked by road with Dhampur which has a railway station on Saharanpur-Moradabad-Lucknow route. Jolly Grant Airport, situated at Dehradun, is the nearest airport.
