Adi Sankara Mandir is a highly revered shrine located at
Joshimath close to
Badrinath. Shri
Sankaracharya is believed to have meditated in a cave very near this temple for five years.
This temple houses the idols of Lord Shiva and other Shaivite gods. Devotees to Badrinath usually visit this temple on the way. Daily pujas are held here . There are many beautiful ponds worth visiting.
